Joining the Group
Sadly the group will be winding up early in 2012.
We are an active group and are involved in several productions throughout the year. We regularly perform as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and also stage productions in the Spring and Autumn. While we aim to at least break even on all our productions, there are other costs incurred - such as public liability insurance.
Without any premises of our own, we also need to hire rehearsal space to prepare for our shows. To help to cover our costs we charge members an annual subscription (currently £25). Although there is no need to join the group to attend auditions - and in fact we always encourage new people to come along - if cast in one of our productions you would be expected to join the group and pay your subs. As a member you are then automatically covered by the group's insurance for the rehearsals and performance.
Once you join, your subscription will also entitle you to take part in other activities with the group. We have a busy social calendar with regular gatherings throughout the year, including script read-throughs, workshops aimed at improving your knowledge of stagecraft or directing, group trips to see a theatre show and big screen Wii nights. And when appropriate BigVillage membership gives a discount on such activities.
